My First Blog-“From the Heart”

Hi, I am Sherree and I want to welcome you to our new Shop Yaya’s site. At the glorious age of 52 I am the owner of two boutiques. I have poked fun at myself more than once saying “I don’t move my cheese, I throw it”. Fifteen women of varied opinions, body types and taste work with me keeping every aspect of my business alive. I have great friends, my “Yaya’s”, who have always made me feel loved, supported, and “fashionable”. My husband Michael has stood by my side for 30 years. We have two grown sons who I am proud to say are well on their way to building strong viable lives of their own.

My guess is that many of the visitors to ShopYayas.com will be just like me. You have various doubts about the way you look-too short, too tall, too fat, too old, get the picture? I’m always amazed that I can feel I look good in the mirror before I leave my house and sometimes within an hour the mirror will have taken a bum turn on me.

My main job (I love this part!) is buying all that you see on this site and at our stores. I am always on the hunt for chic and sophisticated must have products. I try to move our customers, ranging anywhere from 20’s to 60’s, forward through the fashion jungle. I like things that are edgy, but fun and suitable for the suburban women’s lifestyle.

My staff and I are here to make you feel comfortable in today’s fashion world. We are not fashionistas, we just want you to look and feel good. I think it is true that when I look good, I have a better attitude on life. Why? I don’t know but somehow it works. I use the art of illusion (makeup, hair coloring, etc. etc.) to look my best. Great clothing and accessories definitely play a huge part.

Fashion should be fun. Like me, you probably feel you’ve earned the right to pamper yourself a little more. It may take extra time, but we are worth it!
