Spring at last!

Though the rain is pouring down today, I know it’s finally here: that amazing, refreshing time of year when anything seems possible. The sky is a more vibrant shade of blue, tiny blades of brilliant green grass poke through the dirt, and tulips show their vivid red, yellow, and pink faces. I feel happier, more energized, and inspired to try some fun new fashions. Just as the earth sheds its dull winter cast, the emerging colors of the season remind me that it is time at last to shed my dark winter clothing in favor of lighter, brighter Spring looks.

New silhouettes in all types of apparel abound this season. From skinny jeans and ballet flats to swingy dresses and wedges, the styles are fresh, funky, and flattering for all. Eyelet and lace tops contrast against rock-inspired straight-leg or skinny jeans for a look that is sweet and sassy. Swingy mod dresses are balanced by heavy wedges to compliment almost any body type. My personal favorite is also back in a new way: universally flattering wide-leg pants are now high-waisted and paired with sleek, silky tops for a more feminine look.

Even classical shapes are updated this season through the use of pattern and colors. I love dresses, especially wrap dresses and shirt dresses. They feel new and exciting when done in vibrant color and pattern. Check them out in a neat mix of turquoise, brown, and white polka-dots or azure and magenta florals. Match them with wedge espadrilles in neutrals or metallic finishes for a fresh, fun look.

For more fashion inspiration, stop by on April 13th for a special visit with Mandy Peet from Vera Bradley and Denise Theisen from Brighton. They will be here to showcase their lines’ newest colors and looks for Spring 2007. As always, it promises to be a fantastic time for all. We hope to see you there!

Remember this as the last remnants of winter give way to new life: Spring is a time of affirmation and renewal. What better way to commemorate this than to be a little more bold, a little more daring, a little more confident? Try something new this season. It could be just what you need to put some ‘spring’ back in your step! Enjoy!
